Heya folks!

Creativity is the key to longevity and finally I've found more people who think this way. I'm anxious to see what the magazine will contain, what creativity means to other people.
I am a 21 year old student, living in The Netherlands and studying Aerospace Engineering. I've always been making stuff. Whether it be websites, pictures, drawings, songs, it's always been there for me. That urge to put something new on the table, but only since recently have I really embraced it. Nowadays I write poems and short stories. In those I try to catch things that are normally there in everyday life, but which we do not see because we are so busy with everyday life. Or my vision(s) as to how I think certain things should be.. I started sending my writings to my family and they were really euphoric (of course? :)) about my "work". Maybe they are right, maybe not.. I'll let you and Masta be the judge of that.

Memories
16 May 2005

From where I stand now,
I look back and say wow!

Almost twenty years have passed,
but I can't seem to remember the past.

Fractions, bits and pieces
lay around like peaches.

Writing everything down
the memories start to moan.

“Don't put is in the now
we will turn all brown!”

Bounty Hunter
6 August 2005

Life is not a rollercoaster.
It's a truck and I'm the trucker.

The junctions are my choices,
and I listen to my inner voices.

I grab the wheel
and find the will.

Avoid the barricades
and arrive at the gates.

I'll crash the door
and go through the floor.

I will seize the prize;
look in your eyes.

Together
7 August 2005

One way or the other
we must help each other
not break one another.

The world we have created
will get us isolated
then decapitated.

Watch out for that,
give me your hat.
I'll rub your back.

When I'm down
don't go out of town.
Please, cure my frown.

Together we are strong
we have a bond
that will last for long.

Risk
16 September 2005

A risk can make you thrive
can make you weak.
But don't wait till next week.
By that time
there will be nine
passed and gone
you'll be all alone
with no pain,
nor gain
wanting to get another five.

Live and let
23 November 2005

I draw a line from here
to there spanning everything, everywhere.
Is it long or short
small or broad?
That I don't know
so don't try to steal the show.
Your perception is not the same as mine
we are wasting our time.
Everything is relative,
how big is that locomotive?
Big for me, small for you
it'll be yet different to those two.
High or low, fast or slow
you make it roll.
I chose how to see the sea,
you chose how to hear the fear.
We control our lives
just like the bees manage their hives.

Inspire lost
25 November 2005

The pages stay empty.
Thoughts are plenty,
but the words come out bluntly.
Silence results, like singing monks.
The mind gets swamped
the paper unstamped.

To the bottom
26 November 2005

Every last bit I shall use.
Find the remaining parts and fuse.
Push the last thought out of here
so as to have no fear
that it will creep me
in my sleep.

Inspire found
23 May 2006

Create I shall
for I cannot dwell
'cause it does not feel well.

Looking at the world,
I try to find some words
to describe the birds.

Explain the wind
and poke through the fiend.
Tell it all to my friend.

Sights and sounds
in millions and millions of pounds.
In my head, one day it will stop to bounce.

It will find it's place
and all will see through my face,
all the beauty, all the grace.

That I witness everyday
when I go out to play
and make my things from clay.

For create I will
'cause it's the only real
explanation to this reel, life.

Rain
24 May 2006

On my way home
droplets came and were then gone.
Rain was falling in the early dawn.

Haste I had not,
I couldn't see for what.
We are always in a hurry when it's not hot.

The world remains unseen
when it's most peaceful and serene,
when it gets washed, it gets clean.

Everything and everybody hides
no matter what the size,
the lids are put on the hives.

When life is falling down,
put on your best gown
and wipe off that frown.

Rain must be enjoyed
for it keeps us employed
and repairs everything that we destroyed.

Escape
16 June 2006

From reality I flee,
I jump from tree to tree.
Running fast
I don't want to be last.
I must not get behind
the terror, everyday life, will bind
will make life a distant dream,
the vision blurred from the cream.
That's why I discover and explore,
checking things out on all four.
I need to learn quick
make my skin real thick.
The more that I know
the sooner I'll be like a crow,
able to fly.
That will make reality cry.

Experiences
6 July 2006

The sky is falling
run and hide,
duck and dive.
For everything that's
known is going down.
Crushed but not dead,
debris is all around
chaos upon the landscape, felt.
Bury the bodies
burn the empty houses
rebuild and forget.
Time heals, wounds close.
The sky will blue again
strength of the storm
is now here to stay.
Sit tight and wait
for the next one to come.
Life; much bigger than yours.

I see
12 July 2006

It's pretty funny to see
that not everybody is like me,
we are like the fish in the sea.

One has many colours
like a bunch of flowers,
with as many odours.

The other is fat
and it sure is not sad,
'cause it's meant to be like that.

This one is tall and spiked,
doesn't let anything float out of sight,
it's always ready to fight.

Hundreds of thousands of sorts
they all live at different ports,
sure don't share the same resorts.

Sometimes they meet
but don't take a seat,
it's just another peace of meat.

But when they do lift a fin
and put up a grin
the world starts to spin.

So, sometimes it's good
they share some food,
everything's so cute.

Others it's dark
and the fish is like a shark
with no place to park.

It's funny to see,
all the fish in the sea
are not like me.

Greetings!
Straboh
