I write English and Dutch poetry. Maybe I will share some more later on, but for now, my favorite poem, that I would like to share:

Building Foundations

As a flame needs conditions
for its light to manifest
So do we need conditions
to get great deeds expressed

We all want to be Gandhi’s
and that is a wonderful intention
But do not feel down
if you can not save the world today
Because patience and inner peace
is the Gandhi way

Sometimes days go by
that did not seem worthwhile
But each day is like a drop of cement
Look back a few days
see a brick
and smile

We don’t have to build houses each day
We can always build foundations
Fuel our aspirations
Loving our friends and neighbours
Letting our compassion shine
Making inspirations intertwine

Everyday is the first day
of the rest of your life
A great chance to begin anew
and also to continue the great things
you already do

Spreading joy through the world
Joy with your words
thoughts, actions and smile

Make a list of all the things
you can and already do
To make the world a better place
for everyone including you
Starting by changing views
that there is nothing you can do
Just look at your light
growing inside
and also around of you
