It would be great if people could write short examples of creative actions they did, so that we can make 1 article on different creative actions forms inculding photos and ideas how to start your own action.

So feel free to leave some examples here.

Poetry in the streets instead of advertisements

Okay, here one example that came up in my mind:

An action I liked a lot had the goal to cover in my hometown all advertisements that were at buss stops with poetry and literature. Whole A1 ands A0 papers were covered with copies of several pages of books or with a poem. In one night a lot of the advertisement places were de-advertised by the literature. In the early morning people were seen reading surprised while waiting for the buss. (Till the city cleaners came by off course, tidy town...)

books on the streets

Imagine you are walking on the streets and you see instead of posters hanging on electricity boxes, books hanging there. That’s what we did yesterday in the city of Arnhem. We got plastic bags that are being used to put custom documents in and that you put on packages that you want to send. We had too many of them and then I put a book in it and it fitted perfectly and made a joke that we can put up books in public space to spread them. Before I knew it I walked outside to test if the plastic bag would hold on an electricity box and it did. One hour later on different crazy places books where hanging for people to take home.

A day later still several books are hanging, maybe people don’t dare to take them home. Photos of it I will put later online, but I can say to you that it looks funny.

If you also want to do such action you can go to the post office (at least in the Netherlands) and say that you want to send packages abroad and need those plastic bags. They give you as many as you want for free and on the back of the bag you just have to remove the paper and then it will stick on many surfaces without damaging it.

It’s an easy action but fun to do and especially watching how other people react!

action tips

there are also some nice actions mentioned on the page 'action tips'.
i just added the 'guerilla tournesol' activists in Brussels there, who plant sunflowers in the city.
It's not something I did, but a nice initiative :-)

I am new to this site and I love it. I think one thing I love is I am an "old lady" and most of you are young...also I teach so I love to see and hear about the creativity!
